Alpha-gal Information advances awareness and understanding of alpha-gal syndrome. It is an Alpha-gal Alliance project.
Alpha-gal Alliance
Alpha-gal Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes the health and well-being of people with alpha-gal syndrome by systematically addressing the unmet needs of the alpha-gal syndrome community through direct action, institutional capacity building, and coordinated inter-institutional and cross-sector initiatives. Donations to Alpha-gal Alliance are tax-deductible.

Alpha-gal Alliance is run by volunteers who do not receive a salary for their work.

Sharon Forsyth
Founder, Executive Director Alpha-gal Alliance and Alpha-gal Alliance Action Fund
Sharon's bio
Sharon is the Executive Director of the Alpha-gal Alliance and the Alpha-gal Alliance Action Fund, and the creator of the Alpha-gal Information website, the most comprehensive resource on alpha-gal syndrome.
She served as Director of Conservation International’s Africa Program, President of the Beneficia Foundation, and on the boards of the American Bird Conservancy and Bat Conservation International. Prior to her conservation work, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Botswana, where she taught agriculture. She holds a BA in biology and economics.
Sharon contracted AGS while pursuing her lifelong interest in natural history. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, biologist Adrian Forsyth, who also has AGS.
Alpha-gal Alliance Action Fund
Our sister organization, Alpha-gal Alliance Action Fund, advances policies to benefit people with alpha-gal syndrome. As a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, the Alpha-gal Alliance Action Fund engages in various advocacy and political activities for which Alpha-gal Alliance, a 501(c)(3) organization, faces legal limitations.
