OTC Painkillers

A guide to OTC painkillers & alpha-gal syndrome (AGS)

OTC Painkillers

Over-the-counter painkillers may contain mammal-derived ingredients, including gelatin or lactose. Some contain magnesium stearate which is usually plant-derived but which less commonly may be mammal-derived. Liquid OTC painkillers may contain carrageenan, which is derived from red algae but which also contains the alpha-gal linkage.
